Experience Leather's way of oiling a saddle

Prior to the final assembly of the saddle, all parts get two heavy coats of oil. We use Fiebings silicone-lanolin saddle oil. It's a compound of natural animal oils to soften, preserve and restore leather, making this an excellent choice for our line of saddles and tack. The saddles are then left to sit over night, allowing the oils to settle in. Because different parts of the saddle come from different parts of the hide, the oil does not absorb evenly. So, over the next 2 days I keep applying oil to the lighter parts of the saddle to even out the colour. I believe that it is important not to rush this stage.
