Skirt Blocking and Sheepskin

Blocking our skirts consists of 3 pieces of leather per skirt. I want firm and full weight leather to have our skirts maintain their shape for the life of the saddle. So, we don't use belly leather and we only use neck leather when its firm and the proper weight. Once the blocking has been trimmed we grind the edges to get the two layers to look like one. Then they are edges, slicked and edge coated. Sheepskin is then applied.
